Student Program: Pre-Twinkle

The Atlanta Suzuki Institute's Pre-Twinkle program is for students who are just beginning their Suzuki violin, viola, cello, or guitar studies.

Classes will be held at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens. Participants will arrive on campus on Wednesday, June 21. Classes will begin following check-in on Wednesday and continue through midday on Sunday, June 25. The institute will culminate in a final concert on Sunday afternoon.

Early registration ends March 24. Regular registration ends May 1. Late registration may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Email the Atlanta Suzuki Institute for more information.

Pre-Twinkle students will participate in the following 2 core classes:

Lesson Class

Group Class

Students may select 1 additional elective ($110):

Music & Movement Class

Drumming Class

We are pleased to offer an Art Class Series (open to ages 4+) and a Family Chorus (open to all) for Suzuki students and their families this year. Since the days will be quite long, it may be best for Pre-Twinkle students to only register for one extra activity. In addition, all students and families are welcome and encouraged to attend all guest artist and student recitals as well as any Institute-wide social activities.

We realize that Suzuki journeys begin at a variety of ages. We welcome beginning Suzuki students of all ages,

and will do our best to group students by age as well as book level when scheduling Pre-Twinkle students.

As this is a residential institute, we expect classes and other activities to be spread over several hours each day, including evenings. Individual/daily schedules will not be available until June.

Registration Fee (non-refundable): $150 per family

Pre-Twinkle Program Fee: $300 per participant

Music & Movement or Drumming Elective Fee: $110 per participant

Art Class Series Fee: $40 per participant (ages 4+)

Family Chorus Fee: $10 per participant (open to all)

A limited number of need-based scholarships and scholarships for students of color are available.

ASI is continuing to monitor the status of the COVID-19 pandemic, and has developed a tiered system of COVID-19 mitigation measures/policies that are determined by community case counts and participant vaccination rates. These policies are now available on our COVID-19 Policies page and all participants will be notified of the required tier of mitigation policies prior to arrival at ASI.
