2024 Housing & Dining Info

We will be able to offer on-campus housing and dining again this summer, but things will look a little different than in years past. Please read and consider the information below before finalizing your decision to stay on or off campus.

Housing

We have been informed by University Housing that Building 1516 (where ASI has been housed for the past two summers) will now be used exclusively by UGA Athletics and summer school students. Housing intends to place ASI participants in Reed Hall instead. Reed Hall is next to Sanford Stadium, which is approximately 0.9 miles (a 20 minute walk) to the Hugh Hodgson School of Music.

Rooms in Reed Hall are set up similarly to those in Building 1516. Each room has its own attached bathroom. We may also have access to a few "super suites" in the building, which consist of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a shared common room. If you're interested in staying in a super suite with members of your own family or with a larger group of ASI or home studio friends, please make a note of that on your housing application.

All participants staying on campus will check in on Wednesday, June 19 (afternoon) and check out on Sunday, June 23 (afternoon), a 4-night stay. All beds are Twin XL (80" x 36") and participants will need to provide all linens (sheets, towels, etc.) and toiletries. No more than 2 people (regardless of age) are allowed to stay in a bedroom.

Dining

The University is officially closed on Wednesday, June 19 to observe the Juneteenth holiday. As such, UGA Dining Services facilities are closed that day. All ASI participants will be on their own for dinner that evening.

We anticipate being able to offer both full and lunch-only meal plans again this summer. The full meal plan will begin with breakfast on Thursday and end with lunch on Sunday. The lunch-only meal plan will include lunches Thursday through Sunday. Participants will only be able to enter the dining hall at assignment meal times, but once inside it's all-you-can-eat. Food may not be removed from the dining hall. Visit Dining Services' Food Allergies & Special Diets page for more information about those topics.

Dining Services has also let us know that the Village Summit Dining Commons may not be open on weekends this summer. If that is the case, meals on Saturday and Sunday will be at Bolton Dining Commons. It may be most convenient to drive to Bolton Dining Commons (parking is open in surface lots on the weekends) from Reed Hall or the Hugh Hodgson School of Music on Saturday and Sunday
